Walking Aids

When it comes to Parkinson's, we can have good days and bad days. And on some of the bad days, we may need a little extra help, especially when it comes to walking. Whether you choose to use a cane or walking sticks, at some point you will more than likely need to advance to a Walker. Walkers that are generally covered fully by Medicare are standard in nature and provide substantial needs. The key to any walker is to make sure that it fits you, especially your height. When using a walker, you should never find your posture compromised or that you are in a stooped position while using the walker. The best walkers allow you to walk upright and concentrate on standing tall.

If you find yourself fatigued or dizzy often, you may also consider choosing a walker with a built in bench or chair in case you need to take a break.

Two walkers that come highly recommended to people with Parkinson's are the UStep Walker, and the Elenker Walker.

You can find out more about each of these walkers, how to apply for Medicare coverage, and how to order and have the products shipped to you on their websites. Each come with an assortment of walker types and accessories to add for more customization.
